BLOOMINGTON - Not many students have a hand, symbolic or otherwise, in the building of their school.
But Rebecca Tallis and four other Central Catholic High School students did just that Monday as they helped break ground for the new CCHS.
Tallis will be a junior when the school is scheduled to open its doors in the fall of 2003.
"I think it really is a big honor," she said. "They have been wanting to do this for so long."
Tallis, representing St. Mary's Parish in Bloomington, and the other students joined Bishop Daniel Jenky, head of the Peoria Catholic Diocese, and Principal Joy Allen in the ceremony.
The five churches that support CCHS were represented by students.
