OKLAHOMA CITY (JR) -- The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority plans to sell Channel 43 to partially fund a transition to digital television.
Selling the Oklahoma City station is part of a plan for transition to Digital Television by the year 2003, as mandated by the Federal Communication Commission, OETA executive director Bob Allen said Thursday. The plan has been approved by the OETA board.
The plan includes preparation of applications for the digital channels assigned to OETA by the FCC for Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Cheyenne and Eufaula; finalizing cost and funding estimates for adding a digital transmitter, antenna and transmission lines at those...
