KBLR TV-39 is switching from entertainment to Christianprogramming beginning tonight, owner Glen Rose announced Thursday.
Channel 39, a UHF independent that went on the air in April1989 and had at one time been up for sale, is joining the United Christian Broadcasting service. The first program aired will be fund-raising telethons held in prime time tonight, Saturday and Sunday.
UCB is viewer-supported television featuring evangelists and Christian music shows. KBLR will continue to air commercials, Rose said, although ad sales will be focused more on Christian businesses.
