Turn to KBLR-TV, Channel 39 (cable channel 9) weekdays at 6 p.m. and you'll see some pretty familiar faces.
There's Paula Francis, Gary Waddell and the rest of the KLAS-TV, Channel 8 news gang. But instead of Francis you'll hear the voice of Cotty Aguilar. Instead of Waddell's voice, you'll hear that of Javier Mata. Paulo Garcia and Veronica Ayon are dubbing the voices of the male and female reporters. Garcia also provides the dubbed voice of weatherman Kevin Janison.
What you're seeing and hearing is the first Spanish-language TV news program broadcast in Las Vegas, through a cooperative effort between Spanish-language KBLR (which broadcasts the Telemundo network as well as locally produced programs) and KLAS.
