A splendor of trumpets, a swirl of flags and the rattle of tambourines accompanied Gen. Eva Burrows of the Salvation Army as she enlisted 30 new soldiers Tuesday night.
Rallying the troops here and in Green Bay, where she will enroll another 30 soldiers Thursday night, is the primary reason for her second trip to Milwaukee, which has hosted a general only three times since the Salvation Army began in 1865.
