CHEAP TRICK, 11 p.m. Thursday: Rockford's most famous sons are no strangers to the Summerfest stage. More than 20 years after the band's commercial breakthrough, the album "Live at Budokan," Cheap Trick's brand of polished power-pop-rock remains the perfect soundtrack for downing a cold one on the shores of Lake Michigan.
THE GUFS, 10 p.m. Friday: The Milwaukee band's wild ride of a rock career has included major label signings and spurnings, critically lauded discs and a fight to stand out in an overcrowded alt-rock field. Through it all, the band has managed to pen thoughtful, well- crafted tunes and deliver them full-throttle onstage.
