LEOMINSTER - A juvenile court could find a home on an undeveloped floor at Leominster District Court, according to Superior Court Judge Luis G. Perez.
Perez said the Massachusetts Trial Court is negotiating a deal with Mayor Dean J. Mazzarella about converting the empty space to a courtroom.
"Our plan was to open a juvenile court in Leominster four months ago," Perez said. "But these things have a way of moving slowly." Perez, first justice of the Worcester Juvenile Court, said he wants a juvenile court to open its doors in Leominster before the end of 1997.
Perez made his comments during and after an hour-long talk about juvenile crime and the law last night at Leominster High School.
