ONE FINE DAY - Movie Soundtrack THE movie is a modern day romantic comedy starring George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer. Naturally, the soundtrack is filled with love songs. But there's quite a variety here.
There are torch song standards, like Natalie Merchant's One Fine Day which takes the uptempo Gerry Goffin Carole King classic and slows it down into a sultry and soulful ballad.
There's Tony Bennett's What A Difference A Day Makes. Ella Fitzgerald contributes Isn't It Romantic and Harry Connick Jr. performs a silky version of This Guy's In Love With You.
Shawn Colvin sings the romantic Van Morrison composition Someone Like You. Morrison himself performs Have I Told You Lately?, which was a recent hit for Rod Stewart.
Rising soul/blues singer Keb' Mo' performs Just Like You and The Glory Of Love.
Some 60s classics, like Boy From New York City and The Shirelles' Mama Said, add variety to the album.
There are also some new tunes with Kenny Loggins' melodic ballad For The First Time while Tina Arena rocks out with Love's Funny That Way.
All in all, it's a varied collection of quality love songs.
