More than a year after an arsonist destroyed the historicPlandome railroad station, the village and the Long Island Rail Roadare still haggling over how to finance its reconstruction. The green and white, stucco and wood building was doused with a flammable liquid and set ablaze in January, 1987, and by the time the fire was brought under control, all that was left was a blackened shell.
