Ladies' Landmark On Auction Block? The Barbizon Hotel is about to be sold, say real estate sources,and, we're told, the buyers are likely to be developers Philip Pilevsky and Arthur Cohen. Famous for years as a "ladies only" residence, the hotel at Lexington and 63rd was sold in 1979 by its longtime owners to William Zeckendorf for $7 million. It changed hands a year later when a group of investors paid $9.8 million, and has since gone through extensive renovations. The purchase price this time will be much higher. According to our sources, the group of current owners, which includes KLM, the Dutch Airlines, is in the process of selling the hotel for some $60 million. A Surprise Party Brenda Richie, who probably was pretty darned surprised when she discovered her husband, superstar singer Lionel Richie, embracing dancer / model Diane Alexander on June 29, may be even more stunned next week, when, showbiz sources tell us, Lionel will toss a big surprise birthday party for her. Indications that there are fewer and fewer hard feelings between Lionel and Brenda emerged this week when Lionel failed to show up in court in California to bear witness to charges that his wife attacked Diane when she discovered her husband with a friendly armlock on her.
