Carrick Rangers assistant manager Scott Irvine was full of praise for the strike partnership that has formed between Emmett McGuckin and Nedas Maciulaitis after both played key roles in their 3-1 victory over Portadown at Shamrock Park.
McGuckin headed in the opener after 15 minutes, assisted by Maciulaitis following a pinpoint pass from Andy Mitchell before the 23-yearold netted twice in the second-half to further help Carrick's bid for a European berth.
