From afar, the Queensboro Bridge seems less graceful than other East River spans, such as the Brooklyn or Triborough Bridges. But a look at its details reveals the beauty that may have helped inspire Paul Simon to write "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)." More mundane matters: The four inner roadways of the 82-year-old bridge are being rebuilt at an estimated cost of $120 million, about six times what it cost to built the whole structure. It's 3,724 feet long, including approaches, and it crosses 2,166 feet of water. On an average day, 152,591 cars cross its 140-foot-high roadway.
