Subway station overhauls in all five boroughs - from 72nd Street's West Side IRT to the Franklin Avenue shuttle - are in danger of being eliminated if the city does not find an additional $500 million to fund the subway system's capital program, transit officials warned yesterday.
Among the jeopardized projects are the long-awaited revamping of the No. 7 station in Flushing and the total rehabilitation of the Atlantic Avenue complex in Brooklyn, as well as better subway lighting systemwide.
