The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has agreed to lease one- third of an office building planned for downtown Jamaica for use as a central control facility.
The lease signing was to be announced last night by Gov. George Pataki at a gala at Kennedy Airport sponsored by the Greater Jamaica Development Corp., a not-for-profit economic development agency.
The MTA will lease 100,000 square feet in a 300,000-square-foot office building that LCOR Inc. plans to build at Sutphin Boulevard and 94th Avenue, MTA spokesman Tom Kelly said.
