Hundreds of family members, friends and co-workers paid their respects yesterday to Kelvin DeBourgh Jr., the 23-year-old train operator killed in Friday's AirTrain derailment at Kennedy Airport.
Black-clad mourners filed past DeBourgh's coffin during an emotional, four-hour wake in Jamaica on the day the part-time disc jockey and ardent music fan had planned to fly to Miami to attend a West Indian festival.
The hall at J. Foster Phillips Funeral Home was adorned with flower arrangements, including one in the shape of a record, along with the flag of his native Trinidad and several photo collages. One showed baby pictures of DeBourgh alongside snapshots of his 11- month-old daughter, Avion.
