Jan van Breda Kolff will be introduced as Pepperdine's new head men's basketball coach this week, the Daily News has learned.
Van Breda Kolff, 47, resigned at Vanderbilt on Feb. 26 after six seasons, the day after Kentucky eliminated the Commodores in the Southern Conference Tournament. The school is expected to hold a press conference Monday morning to make the announcement.
Vanderbilt, 14-15 this past season, was 104-81 under van Breda Kolff, winning 20 games twice and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 1997.
Van Breda Kolff, who has eight years of Division I head coaching experience, said Saturday he wasn't aware a decision had been made.
"I haven't heard anything as of yet," he said.
