American Eagle has announced the time line for its withdrawal of air service between Nashville and 20 destinations, 13 of which are not currently served by any other carrier.
The early announcement of the time line will give the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority more time to prepare for the departure of the city's largest commuter air service.
``They had said that they would announce the time frame in two or three weeks. They did it in a week,'' says airport spokeswomen Carole Martin. ``That's helpful to us and other carriers.''
Martin says the advance notice will help establishments such as the restaurants on the D concourse (the location of most American Eagle gates) prepare for reduced business, since the concourse will only have one working gate.
The time line also helps other air carriers that may be considering taking over some of American's flights.
Martin says she has had requests from three other carriers for information about canceled service.
