More independent films and Coke instead of Pepsi are a few of the changes coming to the movie theater at the Charlestowne Mall.
Downers Grove-based Classic Cinemas has bought the 18-screen movie theater from Regal Cinemas. The theater closed Sunday and will reopen in early October.
Classic Cinemas, a division of Tivoli Enterprises, owns 17 other theaters in northern Illinois, including the Foxfield Theaters and the historic Arcada Theater in St. Charles.
Tivoli Vice President Chris Johnson said the company has not decided what it will do with its other theaters, both of which are first-run movie theaters.
