THE DREAM ticket would have been the Metropolitan Police versus West Bromwich Albion, but while that was not to be, yesterday's draw for the first round of the FA Cup gave no fewer than 17 non-League clubs what they wanted - a home tie against Football League opposition.
The lucky recipients of a lucrative pairing with Albion, one of two First Division sides involved at this stage, were in fact Halifax. "Lucky" is a word seldom applied to the Vauxhall Conference's 17th-placed team, mauled 4-1 by Marine in the first round last November and relegated from the Third Division in May, but they can expect a cash windfall on 13 November.
