HOW quickly politics can change. In his introduction Stuart Greif writes of "The phenomenon of the Alliance and the less successful New Zealand First". This was in 1995 before Winston Peters tapped into sensitivity over immigration. There is no doubting the widespread concern about immigration that ranges from naked racism to genuine unease about inadequate policies and their application. Greif's book brings scholarly good sense to an issue which may have a significant influence on the election. It deserves a wide, attentive audience.
The editor has concentrated attention on immigrants from Asia...
