The jewel in Lambton Quay's shopping crown, Kirkcaldie & Stains, will make its debut on the New Zealand sharemarket on Monday.
The 138-year-old department store, which boasts a customer and shareholder base of well-heeled shoppers, is to step up from the unlisted market - often referred to the secondary board - to a full listing.
While that's is significant for Kirks' shareholders, it's unlikely to generate the hoop-la of other floats because the company's neither raising capital nor issuing new shares.
