LAKE Ferry ratepayers have voted for a full community sewerage system and have asked South Wairarapa District Council to undertake a survey into options and costs.
A poll on the issue was undertaken by the local Ratepayers and Residents' Association.
Association president, Perry Cameron, said it had now been officially logged that a public health sewerage nuisance existed in the coastal township with the operation of septic tanks. Material had been found in ditches on the main road and on certain days on the banks of Lake Onoke behind the motor camp.
