Walsall showed they are ready for the play-off semi-finals against Stoke City by resting some key players - and still they managed to crush Northampton at Sixfields.
It was a remarkable performance and one of the 'forgotten men', Brett Angell, reminded the fans why he is the club's second leading scorer with the fifth hat-trick of his long career.
The much-travelled 32-year-old was making his first start in nearly nine weeks but showed his appetite for the half-chance is as sharp as ever.
He has now collected 14 goals for Walsall and looks just the man to help them bounce back into the First Division. The avenging Angell said: 'It's not a case of making a point, I just believe I am the sort of player who, given the service in or around the box, will be there or thereabouts to finish.
