It's almost 20 years since legendary groupie Pamela Des Barres, ne Miller, aka Miss Pamela, wrote her "Confessions". Since then, the book has gone on to be the stuff of legend, doing for the excessive world of sex 'n' drugs 'n' rock 'n' roll what Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon did for the world of film.
Pamela's list of lovers reads like a Who's Who of the rock and roll aristocracy, what with dalliances with Mick Jagger (who once tried to get her into a threesome with Michelle Philips of the Mamas and Papas), Keith Moon, Jimmy Page and Noel Redding, to name but four - small wonder, then, that she provided the inspiration for Penny Lane as played by Kate Hudson in Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous.
Yet despite this, Miss Pamela, as she became known, was not Miss Droopy Drawers when it came...
