Abstract
Clinton's new communications director is Joe Householder. Householder comes to the office from his role as director of public affairs for Baroga, Rice & Shalett, a political and public affairs consulting firm. Householder also worked as communications director for the successful 2002 re-election campaign of Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack (D) and as press secretary for Houston Mayor Lee Brown's (D) successful 2001 re-election runoff campaign. From
Rounding out the new hires is Cort Ruddy, who joins Clinton's communications team as a writer. Ruddy comes to the office from the National Journal's Hotline, where he worked as a deputy managing editor. The Pulaski, N.Y., native graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1995 and earned a master's of arts and master's of science from Syracuse University in 1998.
