IT WAS put on the market when its owner gambled and lost GBP 1 million that no-one could solve his brainteaser, Eternity.
Now Crimonmogate House will be home to one of Britain's most successful and dazzling aristocratic young couples after they bought the Scottish mansion from Christopher Monckton for GBP 1.2 million.
Candida Bond, the face of Chanel's Allure perfume, and her husband, William Stanhope, heir to Viscount Petersham's GBP 10 million, become a Scottish laird and his lady as the new owners of the Grade A-listed, 67-room mansion near Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire.
The 29-year-old model, who was voted the third most eligible woman in Tatler's Little Black Book last year, married into one of Britain's most prosperous families when she wed 33-year-old Stanhope in April.
His sister is Serena Linley, the wife of Viscount Linley, the son of Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon.
Mr Stanhope said: "We are looking forward to moving into the house and settling down in this part of Scotland.
"The house has been fully renovated and they have done a fantastic job. There is still some work to be done.
