DON'T cross Paul McGann - you may come to regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but he'll get his revenge some day.
The 41-year-old actor admits he has always found it almost impossible to forget when he's been wronged.
"Deep down we all like to plan elaborate revenges - let's face it, who hasn't?" he says. "And I'm definitely one of those people who tends not to forget that easily. I'm not above being envious, I never forget a slight, I'll always get someone back andI'll remember it long after the other person has forgotten.
"I think it's a healthy and natural thing. Who's never written a letter without posting it? It might be going through the motions but it serves a purpose by filing those feelings away.
"We feel insecure sometimes and I'm not above feeling envious, although I try not to take things too personally. I think half the time it's unintentional because you can annoy people without realising you're doing it.
"It's not a professional thing - it's more a personal thing that can upset me."
All of which makes the popular Liverpudlian actor, best known for his roles in The Monocled Mutineer, Forgotten and cult film Withnail And I, the perfect choice for the role of Professor Patrick Vine, patron of a bizarre revenge society in drama SweetRevenge, alongside Sophie Okenedo.
By day a respectable academic, he also leads a group of people who plot revenges on behalf of their clients.
