Hi, mate. Sorry I'm a bit late. It's been a bit hectic.
I was wanting to talk to you about your new single, but I heard a rumour that you've started doing a bit of boxing. Is that right?
I've just taken it up again, much to the record company's dismay. I used to do a lot, and then when I joined Coronation Street, they told me: no more boxing. I don't think they liked the idea of me turning up on set one day with a big black eye and a broken nose.
They'd have to write it into the script.
Yeah, Nick would have spent half his time getting beaten up by people. And when I left the Street and went to to do the singing, I was too busy to even think about it. And then I had a break before Christmas and one of my friends is doing really well as an amateur at the moment, he's had 17 fights unbeaten, so I was watching him and got hooked again.
So is boxing a good way to keep fit?
