On the day when lowland Scotland's women singers were due to take their rightful place on Celtic Connections' main stage, men - Gaelic, Scots, an honorary Scot and an honorary singer, Angus Grant Snr, whose unadorned fiddling certainly counts as singing - were celebrated, too, with women, if not quite putting the words into their mouths, putting them forward at least.
