SURELY only for sound commercial reasons, Alasdair Roberts has ditched his nom de ballade Appendix Out for his new Rough Trade album, Farewell Sorrow. He still looks, however, like a songwriter designed by a committee, sideburns in the Ray Dorset/Gaz Coombes style and a neb borrowed from Bragg or Townsend.
