Hundreds of war veterans throughout the north-east gathered in the bitter cold yesterday to honour the country's fallen heroes.
Former servicemen joined uniformed organisations at wreath-laying ceremonies in towns and villages across Banff and Buchan.
In Peterhead, Buchan Pipe Band led the traditional armistice procession through the town centre.
Leaving the Royal British Legion's HQ on Broad Street, they were joined by local sea cadets, police and officers from the nearby RAF base.
The parade, which was joined by scores of residents, marched to the South Road war memorial to lay wreaths.
