THE Yorkshire Post-sponsored Ilkley Literature Festival announces its line-up this week - and it is one of the best ever in the 31st year of the event.
The programme features home-grown talent more strongly than ever, with local authors including Joanne Harris, Richard Hoggart, Jake Arnott, Simon Armitage and Martyn Bedford.
The former leader of the Conservative party William Hague is also part of the line-up and perhaps the greatest playwright of the last century, Alan Bennett, will make a rare and highly anticipated appearance at the festival.
