THE gridlocked Saltaire roundabout in Bradford could soon be replaced by a signal-controlled junction after the Government agreed to part-fund a congestion-busting scheme that could cost up to [Pounds]2.6m.
Bradford Council and the Highways Agency have agreed a deal to try to reduce traffic queues on the A650 through the World Heritage Site in Yorkshire.
The work is expected to be completed within two years and will be part-funded by the Highways Agency and Bradford Council.
Traffic signals will be introduced at the roads that now feed into the roundabout and also on nearby Hirst Lane off the A650 in Saltaire.
