YORKSHIRE soldiers preparing for service in the Gulf and other war zones are having to travel outside the region to train with live ammunition after the closure of an Army firing range.
The Army reluctantly took the decision to stop live firing at Strensall Common, near York, after trespassers continued to ignore safety warnings and walk into the range's danger zone.
