Where is it?
On the corner of 50th and Lexington Avenue, New York City, within a few blocks of Fifth Avenue. You can go and look at the designer clothes in Saks Fifth Avenue on Saturday afternoon and then atone for your covetousness at St Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday morning. Both are five minutes' walk away.
Describe the setting
The entrance on East 50th Street is so discreet it's easy to miss. It's a classic 1927 New York block, but as this is a boutique hotel there are no tourist coaches drawing up outside or even guests milling around in reception inside. Style allied to discretion seems to be the motto at The Benjamin.
Does it have a USP?
This may seem strange, given its central location in frenetic NYC, but The Benjamin promises its guests a good night's sleep. To that end, it has an astonishing range of 10 different pillows that you can order from room service. These include a hypo-allergenic pillow, as one would expect, but there's also a Snore-No-More pillow which is designed to raise the chin from the chest, the Magnetic Therapy pillow and even the 5ft Body Pillow.
