An angel helps March of Dimes: 7th Heaven star, Chaz Lamar Shepherd, supports worthy cause
Philadelphia native Chaz Lamar Shepherd, rising star of the WB family drama "7th Heaven," recently returned to his hometown to lend his support and a bit of Hollywood glamour to a worthy cause.
Now in his fourth season as John Hamilton on the hit series, Shepherd, who grew up at 6th and Christian Streets, made a special appearance at the Wyndham Franklin Plaza Hotel, where the Southeastern Pennsylvania Division of the March of Dimes hosted its Team Captain Kick-Off Breakfast for "Walk America 2001."
Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds lifesaving research and innovative prevention programs which have saved millions of innocent babies from birth defects, low birth weight and infant death.
"There are two ways that God operates with problems in this world," said Shepherd, who is currently enrolled in Bible College in pursuit of his minister's license. "One way is to stop them from happening, and the other way is to deal with [them]. And for the babies who...
