Hundreds filled the historic Church of the Advocate to pay tribute to the man of God who had helped guide and change the lives of so many, from those in the North Philadelphia parish where he had served faithfully for so many years, and even to some a half-world away.
The Requiem Eucharist in Celebration of the Life of Rev. Dr. Paul M. Washington, D.D., held on Monday, was a celebration of the life of "Brother Paul," as he was remembered by so many.
There was a significant outpouring of clergy, who came to give thanks and pay tribute to the man who several said changed the course of their lives.
