IRISH football's latest Caribbean import believes St Patrick's Athletic are good enough to hold onto their League crown this season.
Wesley Charles' arrival has been a godsend for Sligo Rovers' player-manager Nicky Reid.
Sligo were always going to struggle at the back without the experienced Steve Birks but Charles, a native of St Lucia in the West Indies, has slotted in well at the heart of the defence.
He's settled down nicely at centre-back, made it tough for St Pats' strike pair Trevor Molloy and Ian Gilzean for an hour during their clash at the Showgrounds two weeks ago - and on Sunday, he was in towering form as Sligo earned a point at third-placed Shamrock Rovers.
With Waterford United losing to Dundalk at the same time, Sligo were able to breath a sigh of relief. It's the Blues, and not the Bit O'Red, who are currently propping up the Premier Division table.
A well-taken goal by youth international Sean Flannery after excellent approach work by Neil Ogden on the left wing opened the scoring for Sligo, but the home side hit back in the second half through Tony Cousins.
