KARATE-kicking cyber-chick Lara Croft will be back in more sizzling adventures when Tomb Raider III is released for PlayStation and PC next month.
Here Mega Mirror takes a sneaky peek at the new game.
The creative team at Core Design took only 10 months to complete the game - but they have made significant improvements.
Thanks to new technology and multi-coloured lighting effects, the game looks much more true to life. Lara is more agile - she can now crawl, dash and monkey swing.
And there are realistic effects such as weather changes, reflections and leaves blowing in the wind. Lara's guns smoke when she fires and you even see shells fall out of the shotguns and the Uzis.
Play has been tweaked too. Tomb Raider III includes five adventures which link together. After you have finished the first, the following three can be played in any order before the fifth level brings the game to a conclusion.
And it's more fun because there is more than one route to complete each level and it can be done without exploring the whole map.
There are new weapons too: a rocket launcher and a desert eagle automatic. Lara also sports some sassy new outfits, including a skin- tight Avengers- style costume.
Tomb Raider III takes you to new locations: India, South Pacific, Nevada, Antarctica and London. See below to read how the story pans out.
STING IN METEOR'S TALE
MILLIONS of years ago, a meteor plunged into Antarctica and four pieces broke off.
The impact created a volcanic island when Antarctica iced over.
It was inhabited by a Polynesian tribe who used the meteor's unique energy source. Years later, the volcano erupted and the Polynesians fled.
The settlement ruins were discovered by the famous explorer and biologist Charles Darwin in the 19th century. Some of his team accidentally removed the pieces of meteor, then died mysteriously.
Modern-day scientists excavate the site and discover a material with the ability to change genes. They also find a journal and set about finding the lost meteor pieces.
Meanwhile, Lara is in India searching for one of the pieces. She doesn't know its history, but she knows it has great powers.
