THE City of Philadelphia is planning to roll out the Green carpet to Celtic when they visit in July to face Manchester United in a pre- season tour of America.
Philadelphia City Councillor Jack Kelly and a local Republican representative and Celtic fan Mike Roman have prepared a 'resolution' to host a 'Celtic Day' in the sports-mad city, the first time a foreign sports team has been given such a welcome.
Plans for the day include a media blitz including scarves, shirts and flags for local children, an official presentation of the Resolution and a large Celtic party, possibly to be held at Philadelphia City Hall.
The event will be a majour coup for the Club as it seeks to promote it's brand across America and will give it the upper hand...
