A MEMBER of Merseyside Police Authority has stood by his word and refused to accept an allowance rise of pounds 2,500.
Instead, Coun Warren Bradley is donating the extra cash to a Liverpool charity.
Coun Bradley was the only member of the authority to vote against plans to introduce salaries of between pounds 9,000 and pounds 20,000 a year for members.
The Liberal Democrat disagreed with the findings of a national review of allowances which recommended a move away from the previous hourly rate.
He wrote to authority chair Carol Gustafson last month and asked to continue to be paid his former allowance.
