Destiny's Child: Soldier
To be honest, this is a bit of a letdown. Boring and repetitive, Soldier has none of the bootylicious flair of the girls' previous singles had. The rap input from Lil Wayne and T.I. is unnecessary and boring. As usual, Beyonc's is really the only voice that you can hear properly, although the other girls do sing more than in previous singles. Saying that, this single probably will make the Top 10, if only because of the name Destiny's Child have made for themselves. A real disappointment from a great band.

The Others
No, I'm not talking about the film; The Others is a punk band which formed in 2002. This is my type of rock, exciting and funky with shouting vocals which I can imagine will sound amazing live. This is pure punk-rock with crashing drums and screaming guitars, overlaid with a cool, catchy melody. I particularly liked the guitar intro in track two, William, which, I was surprised to find, has a sound similar to Busted, although slightly less pop-rock. The tracks that follow each have a unique element about them, with the band not falling into the "all our songs sound the same" category.
