It takes just one glance at the decor of Yvonne Gilbert's Newcastle home to know you're in the presence of an artist.
Paintings cover the walls, a huge jukebox dominates the living room, a giant pair of stilettos is positioned on the mantelpiece, and other out-of-the-ordinary objects fill the room.
Yvonne, 53, has built up an international reputation as a children's illustrator.
Her 15th picture book, written by singer Billy Joel, will be published this September.
Goodnight, My Angel: A Lullabye is named after a song Joel wrote for his daughter Alexa on his latest album River of Dreams.
It promotes the message that the love between a parent and child lasts forever, even if families are separated.
Yvonne's drawings show the ways that small moments ( like tucking a child into bed ( affirm a parent's devotion to their children.
