LINDON -- The SCO Group Inc. on Monday unveiled a new technology platform that its top executive said likely will be the company's top income source in a few years.
Called Me Inc., the networking software platform will revolutionize the way digital services are funneled to smart phones and other handheld electronic devices, said Darl McBride, SCO president and chief executive officer. It is designed to automate and streamline operations to an "edge" processor, which then can divvy out the information rather than having the user try to store that data on storage cards used by the device.
"The platform has the ability to off-load major computing tasks off from the phone," McBride said. "We put it into an edge processor that sits up on the network, and the processor talks to all the infrastructure -- all the different databases, all the categories of data you want to draw into this -- and acts like a broker to drop down to you, in bite-size, the information pieces that you...
