THE Holden Racing Team last night reaped the reward of a dominant season, collecting the lion's share of the trophies handed out at the annual V8 Supercar gala dinner in Melbourne.
Five-time drivers champion Mark Skaife shared the accolades with Holden Racing Team young gun Rick Kelly who collected the inaugural Mike Kable rookie of the year award, named in honour of The Australian's long-serving motor sport writer, who died on May 30, 2000.
"I didn't set out to win the rookie of the year award," the 19- year-old from Mildura said. "But winning the award is a real honour and is probably the by-product of such a successful season for the team.
