HOLDEN ace Mark Skaife was crowned king of Australian domestic motorsport last night for the fourth time in his brilliant career at the V8 Supercars third gala awards dinner at the Crown Casino.
But Skaife did not have to look far to spot the man from the enemy Ford camp who is most likely to challenge his dominant position.
That man is Tasmanian Marcos Ambrose, runaway winner of the Mike Kable Rookie of the Year award, named in honour of The Australian's long-serving and well-respected motoring writer, who died last year.
