Opening April 6th, Merlin Little Thunder of the Southern Cheyenne Tribe will have a one-man show at The Jacobson House Native Art Center in Norman. There will be a reception for the artist from one to five
o'clock. The public is invited to meet Merlin and talk with him about his artwork and life as an American Indian painter.
The exhibit will consist of over twenty original paintings. The scope of work includes miniatures and salon pieces. Little Thunder uses acrylics and water-color to create characterizations of turn-of-the-century
Indians. The individuals depicted, men and women, are treated as individuals not merely as objects in the landscape. Most often, Little Thunder's Indian people are in surroundings well known by the artist.
