Reconstructionists Debut Book
NEW YORK -- Trust the Reconstructionists to do things differently.
The new "Prayerbook for the Days of Awe" issued by Judaism's sole American-born movement contains such innovations as guided meditations ("Picture yourself on a small boat slowly floating along the banks of a river"), drawings for meditative contemplation and poems by poets such as Maya Angelou, Yehuda Amichai and Yevgeny Yevtushenko. It features a gender-neutral English translation and three services: a more traditional one, a shorter one billed as "innovative" and another stressing English readings.
