In honor of her father's memory, actress and producer Yolanda King, eldest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, spoke January 11th at The Ohio State University's Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. Now in its 35th year, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. evening program will be at 7 p.m. in Hitchcock Auditorium (Hitchcock Hall) located at 2070 Neil Avenue. The African-American Voices at The Ohio State University provided musical selections. The event was free and open to the public.
"We wanted to have someone special for the 35th anniversary," said Lawrence Williamson, Director of The Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center. "While the event has featured many outstanding speakers over the years," Williamson said, "bringing Yolanda King to The Ohio State University will be especially meaningful because of her memories of her father. We hope this choice will really resonate with people. I'm very excited about the selection."
