For the past few years, residents of the Beacon Hill Neighborhood have witnessed changes in their vicinity including a crop of new businesses, freshly paved roads and sidewalks with a roundabout located at the crossroads between Blanco Road and Fulton Street.
Last month, with support from Public Arts San Antonio, the newest addition to one of San Antonio's oldest neighborhoods was put on display for both aesthetic and symbolic purposes.
"The Beacon," created by local artist Angel Rodriguez-Diaz, is a 28-foot-tall illuminated sculpture in the shape of an Egyptian obelisk.
